These were discussed with the CYF staff guiding the first sprint in each
region:
* Make the Welcome sprint energiser just be "Introduce yourself"
* Consistently label energisers as energisers, and invite folks to think
of / bring their own.
* Call out that people should make name tags for the first few weeks.
* Add an (optional) call to hang out after class.
* Add a Code of Conduct block to the Welcome day-plan.
* Update that PRs must be complete before steps are submitted.
* Consistently suggest that Miro post-it workshops can be done on Miro
or with post-its.
* Move Slack Libs from an energiser to a workshop-ish thing earlier in
the course.
* Some copy edits on some activities
* Stop {{<our-name>}} from adding a trailing space
At {{<our-name>}} we learn as a community. You're going to be spending the coming months with the people around you. After that, they will form part of your professional network too.
15
+
16
+
We encourage you to spend time getting to know them! This is optional. But after class, we encourage you to do something like:
17
+
* Hang around in the class space chatting or playing games.
18
+
* Go sit in a nearby park together.
19
+
* Go to a local cafe for hot drinks.
20
+
* Go to a nearby pub.
21
+
* Or any other ideas you have!
22
+
23
+
Make sure everyone who wants to join in will feel welcome wherever you go (e.g. a lot of people don't like drinking or being near alcohol).
24
+
25
+
If {{<our-name>}} is paying childcare expenses so that you can come to class, we're happy to pay for this time as well.
