About animation change

I'm trying to animate an "Air Walk" animation, but it needs to run in sync with the frame of the walking animation, like in Sonic Mania for example: Sonic enters air_walk mode in real time and on the same frame as the frame he was on before transitioning to the air_walk animation. How could the game maker "save" the frame of the previous animation to start the next one (Start_frame) on the same frame but in a different animation, to avoid the animation always restarting from scratch?

Note: From what I've noticed, the air_walk animation in Mania has one less frame than the walking animation! This is quite curious. Could the last frame of the walking animation use the same frame as the walk animation when falling? (Two frames of walk using the same frame of air_walk).

(Yes, I've already created a new state for the walk animation in player_animate, it works perfectly but it still lacks synchronization according to the walk animation).

Simply pass image_index as the starting frame into the ani_start function

Even after removing all the ani_update frames in scr player movement ground, it still doesn't work. :(

Try passing image_index % image_number instead. Make sure the amount of frames between animations match

I FIGURED OUT WHY! I tried the method you mentioned about image_index % image_number, but it still wasn't working. Then I searched for ani_update and found that there were some issues with scr_player_collision_ground_floor, meaning that besides scr_player_movement_ground, scr_player_collision_ground_floor was also breaking the animation! After that, it worked. I made some adjustments to when the animation would start, and now it works perfectly! Thank you!

wait right, you should've removed them only from scr_player_collision_ground_floor, I said the wrong script LMAO. Please restore scr_player_movement_ground back to as it was, the animation resets there are important
