Question: Is ~13% idle CPU usage expected behavior?

I’ve noticed that the software is currently using around 13% CPU on my system. I’m not entirely sure if this was the case with previous releases or if it's a recent change, so I wanted to check if this is considered the expected baseline.

My Setup:

• OS: Windows 11 24H2 64-bit
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3400G
• Software Version: v0.3.3-nightly.20260216

Just saw this now. I can't replicate this problem. OverKeys only uses less than ~1% CPU in my machine. Can you confirm that this still happens with the latest release.

It's still happening with the latest release 0.3.4. I've also just noticed that when I open the preferences window, the CPU usage drops back to normal (~1%), and as soon as I close the window it goes up to ~13%.

Yes. I can now observe the same behavior. Although it's just ~6% for me compared to your 13%. I'm guessing this is because of the update to the desktop_multi_window package.

If this is a big issue to you, for the moment, you could instead press ESC key on the preferences window. I've made it so it effectively hides the window only (not close), so the CPU usage will be the same as when the preferences window is open.
