• Yes, I have checked and my issue is not related to the game updating and plugins not working correctly.

What did you do?

Open XIVLauncher.

Go to the Dalamud tab and ensure "Enable Dalamud" is checked.

Click the "Play" button to launch Final Fantasy XIV.

Wait for the game window to appear; it crashes immediately before reaching the title screen.

Note: This occurs even with zero plugins installed or loaded.

The error is an "Unhandled Native Exception" (Code: C0000005) occurring in the nvwgf2umx.dll file. This file is the NVIDIA video driver.

The specific crash point (NVENCODEAPI_Thunk) indicates that the error occurs when Dalamud attempts to "draw" its interface on the screen while the RTX 4060 driver is trying to process some video encoding or overlay function.

I tried disabling the video card overlay, but that didn't work either.

The errors are within the crash.log file.

I've experienced a similar crash on an i9-13900k in the past; 13th and 14th gen Intels are notoriously unstable and they tend to manifest in cryptic GPU driver errors like this one. Perhaps this could be an instance of that; maybe try a BIOS update?

I just updated the BIOS and the problem persists.
