'Device' object has no attribute 'master'

Hello everyone,

On some devices pages (I don't know how many), I have this error since I upgraded to 4.5.6. I was using 4.5.5 previously. No error seen during upgrade.

OS : debian
Version Python: 3.13.5
Version NetBox: 4.5.6
Plug-ins: none

I encountered the same error.
I checked it occurs on devices assembled in a
virtual chassis.

Same problem here after upgrading to 4.5.6

As said, it happens only in devices that are part of a virtual chassis.

Thanks everyone for digging into this. This does appear to be a real regression in v4.5.6, and I’ve been able to reproduce it as well.

@JMD-ONP, would you mind opening a bug report so we can track this properly? That will help make sure it doesn’t get lost and gives us a dedicated place to follow up.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a device Stack01Member01
2. Create a Virtual Chassis Stack01
3. Assign the device Stack01Member01 to the Virtual Chassis Stack01, but do not set it as the master
4. Open the device Stack01Member01
