Boolean operator precedence in <Condition> tags

Question

How does Wix (or Windows Installer) resolve multi-part Boolean condition strings? Can I use parentheses to do this, or do I have to break it up into additional, multiple Property elements?

For example:

Condition="NOT VCRUNTIME_X64_INSTALLED AND VersionNT64 AND ProcessorArchitecture = 'x64'"

Would this result in:

(a) "(NOT VCRUNTIME_X64_INSTALLED) AND (VersionNT64) AND (ProcessorArchitecture = 'x64')"

or:

(b) "NOT (VCRUNTIME_X64_INSTALLED AND VersionNT64 AND (ProcessorArchitecture = 'x64'))"

???

Of course, the three properties referenced are resolved by different registry searches and/or built-in variables.
