Search Indexers

The Challenge: Standard crawlers follow hyperlinks. Dark web sites often don't link to each other, and many are behind login walls.

Active Engines:

  • Ahmia.fi: The only search engine that indexes .onion sites accessible from the clear web (for viewing). It filters out abuse material.
  • Torch: Massive database, but lots of dead links and ads.
  • DuckDuckGo (Onion): Great for privacy, but primarily searches the Clear Web from Tor. It does NOT index onion sites deeply.

[ TIPS & TRICKS ]

  • Recon: Useful for finding vendor reviews across multiple markets.
  • Kilos: (If active) Search engine specifically for market listings.
  • Boolean Search: Use + and - to filter results (e.g., bitcoin -casino to remove gambling spam).
